In early 1995 (Heisei 7), Dr. Hidemitsu Hayashi of Japan discovered that electrolyzing water can eliminate reactive oxygen species (free radicals) and has antioxidant effects. In the same year, Professor Feng-Chou Lu of the Institute of Biochemistry at National Taiwan University further verified the antioxidant effects of electrolyzed water using the “ultra-micro chemical generation assay.”
In May of 1997 (Heisei 9), Professor Mitaka Shirahata (Genetic Resources Engineering) of Kyushu University Graduate School published a paper in the international academic journal BBRC, confirming that electrolyzed water can eliminate reactive oxygen species that cause oxidation of human DNA. In 1998 (Heisei 10), the Republic of China’s Ministry of Health released its Third National Nutrition and Health Survey Report on April 29th, revealing that a staggering 9.18 million people in Taiwan suffered from the five major lifestyle diseases. Severe calcium deficiency was observed in men and women under 25, and insufficient iron intake was observed in women aged 13 to 34. In April of 1999 (Heisei 11), the 25th General Assembly of the Japan Medical Association discussed the topic of “Electrolyzed Functional Water for Medical Treatment.” The Alkaline Ion Water Purifier Review Committee stated that Electrolyzed Reduced Water® for drinking water was the world’s first product to undergo a blind clinical trial demonstrating its “effectiveness” in treating the human digestive system.
